Personal Protective Equipment

Personal Protective Equipment Training for your Staff

Between April 2014 and March 2015 611,000 injuries occurred at work and 142 workers were killed. Some of these injuries or deaths could have been avoided by using PPE.

This PPE online training course outlines the steps to use when deciding what PPE to use for a particular task.

The hazards you face at work will depend on your job and the environment that you work in. Each hazard has its own risks which you can reduce by putting control measures, such as PPE, in place to protect your health and safety.

Some hazards are unavoidable due to the nature of the job, for example, if you work on a building site, the roadside, at heights or in a temperature controlled zone such as cold storage or a boiler room.

This PPE microlearning course will highlight some of the questions that should be asked when deciding on the PPE to use, such as:

What is the risk?

  1. Is there more than one risk?
  2. How long will I be exposed to the risk?
  3. How great is the risk of the hazard causing harm?

After the information has been presented you will be able to take a series of questions based on scenarios in the workplace.
