Our DSE training covers everything you need to know to control the risks associated with using display screen equipment and explains how to analyse office ergonomics to assess any health and safety issues that might occur.
The Display Screen Equipment eLearning course explains DSE regulations, and teaches users how to set up their workstations and use display screen equipment properly, how to sit with good posture, and what exercises will help to reduce fatigue, pain, and discomfort. To ensure learners receive thorough display screen equipment training, the course is split into four modules, each with a question and answer portion at the end to ensure the user's full understanding.
We also offer a 5 minute DSE eLearning course entitled DSE- Working with dual screens. This short course is a very focused piece of eLearning specifically for those who use two screens whilst at work as this brings with it additional considerations.

What is classed as display screen equipment?
Display screen equipment (or DSE for short) are devices or equipment that have either an alphanumeric or graphic display screen. When we talk about DSE, this includes traditional display screens such as desk-top monitors, as well as laptops, tablet computers, touch screens, and television sets. Users of DSE equipment may have either a fixed workstation or else use portable DSE from various locations.
What are the risks of using display screen equipment?
Employers have a responsibility to protect their employees from any DSE risk, such as musculoskeletal disorders, neck, back, and shoulder pain, sore arms, fatigue, and eye-strain. Although most of these symptoms do not indicate serious ill health, they can prevent workers from being productive and cause chronic discomfort because DSE is now one of the most common kinds of work equipment, used in offices the world over.
In 2015/2016 539,000 out of 1,311,000 work-related illnesses were attributed to MSD's (Musculoskeletal Disorders). Keyboard work using Display Screen Equipment was a major contributor to this figure, which resulted in an estimated 8.8 million working days being lost at an average of 16 per case.
